New Machine

Some of you may know that I am selling Astrid. I want to downsize but still be able to quilt.

I LOVE Husqvarna Vikings but I know that Janome's are amazing and reliable.

I also read a review on Lizzy's blog (http://lizzyhouse.typepad.com/lizzyhouse/2011/06/so-ive-been-sewing-pretty-with-hello-kitty-.html) that she has been using the Hello Kitty machine for years now SO that is encouraging.

So many things to consider so many options. What machine would you chose?

Also as promised a picture of the Wood Lily block.

P.s. Please excuse the pad pics and strange order :D

Farmers Wife Quilt Along

For those of you who aren't yet familer with the Farmers Wife join the club!

I have to admit I'm more a mistress than a wife at this point. But that doesn't mean we can't have goals to one day be wives.

My sister Trisby {who blogs over at Lavender Lane Creations}  and I have decided to start from the back and count down to the finish as it were.

We are both behind but at least we are not alone and after we both finish moving (more on that later) we will catch up.

But for now here is what I have.

101. Wedding Ring

 102. Whirlpool

 103. Whirlwind

104. Wild Geese

105. Wild Goose Chase

106. Wild Rose & Square

107. Windblown Square

108. Windmil

Coming Soon (have to take a good picture).

109. Windows

Coming Soon (have to take a good picture).
But in the mean time I dare you to look at this block and tell me it doesn't scare the pants off you. I procrastinated a whole weekend of sewing because it scared the pants of me.

110. Wood Lily

111. Wrench (or the wench)

So if that doesn't have you inspired to get sewing well than you should go check out Amanda and Angela's blog because they will!

Not only are they the instigators of the Internet craze they are our faithful hosts on flickr who keep us all unified and motivated.

Alice

Quite a few months ago my cousin Keery came to me about making a quilt for her friend Sarah. As a child Sarah used to tell a story of a little girl named Alice who visited the moon with her friend the monkey.
The proposal: Turn this stack of fabric into this pretty picture.

The start of a very long process

There were 86 individual pieces of the hills and I have to had sew each one of them together...*face-palm*

Well worth the effect in the end I think.

 Finished :D

It’s not as perfect as I wanted it to be BUT this quilt has taught me so much (some of which requires a new camera and some photography lessons). Thank you Kiwi for trusting me to make this beautiful gift!
I hope you and Sarah and the new baby LOVE it as much as I do.

A day too late for yesterday.

I was supposed to do this post yesterday but...as you can see I'm a day too late for that.

Anyway I finally finished the Alice quilt.

Excuse the sideways crappy quality I'm still running on CrackBerry power.

So what do you think?

It's not perfect but I did my best and I pray Sarah's little one loves it!

I'll post the progress soon :)
